Aluminum Extrusion 6063 Scraps
6063 is the workhorse architectural extrusion alloy — an aluminium-magnesium-silicon (6xxx series) alloy used for window and door frames, curtain walling, shopfitting, solar mounting rails and heat sinks. Because it is a single, tightly controlled alloy with low copper and iron, segregated 6063 extrusion scrap remelts back into extrusion billet with minimal dilution, which is why it trades well above mixed aluminium.

• Clean 6063 mill-finish extrusion scrap: unpainted, uncoated, free of thermal break, rubber gasket, steel and glass
• Painted / powder-coated 6063 extrusion scrap: discounted for coating burn-off loss
• Thermal-break extrusion: contains polyamide strip and must be declared separately — it is not clean 6063
• Related ISRI reference: Tread covers segregated new aluminium castings, forgings and extrusions — useful if you are contracting new production offcuts rather than obsolete profile.

• Form: cut lengths and offcuts; sizing to the buyer's charging requirement by agreement
• HS code: 7602.00 (aluminium waste and scrap). If you are supplying new profile rather than scrap, the heading is 7604 — a completely different tariff line and duty treatment.
What determines the price
6063 extrusion scrap prices are set as a discount to the LME aluminium cash price, and the discount is driven by alloy purity, coating (mill finish vs painted vs anodised), attachment and non-metallic content, and melt loss. Lot size and freight complete it. Send us the condition, coating and tonnage and we will quote per metric ton.
Typical applications
Remelt into 6xxx extrusion billet; secondary aluminium alloy production; deoxidant in steelmaking for lower grades; die-casting alloy blends where the magnesium and silicon content is accounted for.
Supply terms
Available by 20ft container load — extrusion scrap is bulky, so loaded tonnage depends heavily on whether the material is baled, bundled or loose. Third-party pre-shipment inspection and spectrometer alloy verification at load port available on request at buyer's account; for a sorted-alloy product like 6063, an XRF check at loading is the cheapest way to close a first contract.
