Aluminum Wire Scrap

Aluminium wire is bought on conductivity, which means it is bought on purity — and that makes it one of the few aluminium grades where a purity percentage is genuinely the right number to quote. Electrical-conductor grade aluminium is a near-pure 1xxx-series metal, and clean EC wire scrap remelts back into conductor with minimal loss.

Grades supplied

• EC aluminium wire and cable scrap (ISRI Talon): electrical conductor grade aluminium wire and cable, free of insulation unless contracted as insulated cable (a separate, discounted grade priced on recovered metal)

• Alloy / model: 1060–1100

• Purity: approximately 99.6% aluminium (consistent with 1060; alloy 1100 is nominally 99.0% minimum)

• Indicative composition: Si 0.25%, Fe 0.35%, Cu 0.05%, Mn 0.03%, Mg 0.03%, Zn 0.05%, Ti 0.03%, V 0.05%, balance Al

• Wire diameter: 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 80 and 100 mm

• Coil weight: 50 kg, 100 kg, 200 kg

• Free of (scrap grades): insulation, steel core (ACSR), copper, iron attachments, oil and corrosion

• HS code: 7602.00 for scrap; 7605 for new aluminium wire.

Packing and MOQ

• Wood pallets; loaded 20ft or 40ft FCL, packed per ISRI specification in containers

• Minimum order: 1 × 20ft FCL, approximately 25–26 MT per 20ft, approximately 1,000 or 2,450 pieces per 20ft

What determines the price — Purity and conductivity grade, insulation and steel-core content for cable, corrosion and oxidation, form (wire versus cable versus chopped), lot size and freight. Send us the grade, tonnage and discharge port for a per-MT quote.

Typical applications — Overhead conductor and cable manufacture; re-melt into EC-grade rod; secondary aluminium alloy production; deoxidant applications for off-spec material.

Supply terms — Minimum 1 × 20ft FCL as above. Third-party pre-shipment inspection and spectrometer verification at load port on request, at buyer's account. Quoted per metric ton, FOB or CIF.
